End Poverty Edmonton

April 2023-July 2023

Group Show with Terry P. Daly Gallery Artists in Edmonton.

EndPovertyEdmonton is a collaborative initiative of the community within Edmonton. The goal of ending poverty relies on the generous contributions of their partners. Terry P. Daly Gallery is a local artist-run gallery coordinated by artist Terry P. Daly.

During the pandemic, Terry and Mariam shared a common desire to create an outdoor art exhibit for public enjoyment. Their affinity for passionate artists with a strong sense of community awareness has resulted in several successful exhibits and collaborations. Terry's Garden has been the main location for numerous exhibits that have impressed attendees with their distinctive beauty and artistic expression.

In the case of the End Poverty Edmonton exhibit, with the help of the individuals at “End Poverty Organisation”, Terry rented art from select artists to display at the initiative's head office. The purpose was to inspire lobbyists and other community initiatives to come together in a pleasant and inspiring space which spoke to the theme.

Mariam Qureshi exhibited the following paintings to visually express what it may feel like to be emotionally and physically constrained by a socioeconomic problem such as poverty. A big thank you to Terry for the opportunity and for keeping the spirit alive.

Terry’s art can be seen via his social media platforms.
