A milestone in an artist's career is to showcase their work in New York. New York City is a cultural melting pot, drawing artists, collectors, curators, and enthusiasts from all over the world. By exhibiting in a New York art gallery, an artist gains instant exposure to an expansive audience of art connoisseurs, critics, and potential buyers. We are pleased to announce the achievement of one of our artists, Mariam Qureshi. Her paintings were selected to be in her first group show in New York City to express art that explores the notion of Celebrating life. An artist's journey is often marked by a search for validation and recognition. Exhibiting in a New York art gallery carries a symbolic weight, signalling to the art world that an artist's work has reached a level of merit and significance. In such a vibrant creative environment, artists can immerse themselves in an environment that pushes boundaries and provides a wealth of artistic inspiration. This growth can have a significant impact on the art and the artist.

We are more than happy for her and wish her all the best in New York City. This art exhibit is curated and managed by the Grimandi Art Gallery and Mariam will be attending the opening night.

A special message from the artist:

This will be my first group exhibit in New York City. I am very honoured to be part of this opportunity. I will exhibit 2 of my paintings among several other amazing artists.

The two paintings I will exhibit are painted in my very own style which I have developed over the years by taking inspiration from fine art painters such as Turner, Monet, Pollock, O’Keefe, Duchamp, Picasso and Gerard Richter.  I have painted these two paintings in bold yet mat acrylic colours on canvas. They are both very colourful and express my understanding of movement, layers, depth and light.

Both subjects are also inspired by my passion for the natural environment and my desire for sustainable choices.

I am excited to meet the group of artists who were juried and curated into the show. During the opening night, I would like to read a poem as my artist statement and will be available for questions.
